Jer. 17:9 – The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure.

Romans 13:1-2 – Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.

1 Peter 2:13 – For the Lord’s sake, submit to all human authority….

2 Corinthians 10:8 – I may seem to be boasting too much about the authority given to us by the Lord. But our authority builds you up; it doesn’t tear you down. So I will not be ashamed of using my authority.
